John (Ben) Montoya, devoted husband, beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, peacefully passed away in his home, Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the age of 84.
John was born July 10,1933 to Mary C. and Guadalupe Montoya in Ojo Feliz, NM.
John is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Florence Montoya, Mary Quade, Manuel Montoya and Lawrence Montoya.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dora Montoya, two sons, Mike Montoya (Debra) of Raton NM and David Montoya of Trinidad Co., brothers Richard Montoya, Lupe (Marsha) Montoya, sister Nancy (Chuck) Miller, sister in law Mable Laforett, brother in law Tony Laforett, Grandchildren: Christina McCormick, Joni Montoya, Eric Montoya and Ryan Montoya. Great grandson, Landon Montoya, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
John loved life and spending time with his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life. John enjoyed listening to music and loved caring for animals of all kinds.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3PM-7PM at the Comi Chapel
Rosary will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 7PM at the Comi Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will follow at the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton, New Mexico.
