Patrick Phillip Salazar, 51, of Raton, unexpectedly passed away on June 19, 2026. His sudden loss has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on February 13, 1975. Patrick was known for his steady presence, sense of humor, and loyalty to the ones he cherished the most. Patrick loved fishing, playing with his grandbabies, and watching his Dallas Cowboys.
Patrick dedicated over 20 years of his life to law enforcement, retiring as a Sergeant with the Raton Police Department. He served with commitment, courage, and integrity. Sgt. Salazar was deeply respected by his fellow officers and the community he served.
Patrick is preceded in death by his grandpa and Grandma Salazar, and his Grandpa and Grandma Duran.
Patrick is survived by his parents Patricio and Joyce Salazar. His daughters Brooke Moore (Anthony), Lara Trejo (Ryan), Sonya Villani (Nicolina), Sandia Salazar (Malachi). His beloved grandbabies Isabel Moore, Amelia Martinez, and Michael Villani. Sisters, April Salazar and Jo Salazar. Nieces and nephew, Justin Carrillo, Shelby Salazar (Josiah), Abigail Carrillo, and Neveah Maes. Great Niece Ariella Sedillo. Close family members, Mary and Aidan, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and close cousins, whom he cherished deeply.
A man of faith, Patrick’s life reflected the values of service, sacrifice, and devotion to others. Those who knew him will remember his strength, his presence, and the way he showed up for people when it mattered most.
A public visitation will be held on July 7, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. to- 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be July 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Patrick’s- St. Joseph’s. Internment l will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
