Rose “Marie” Sanchez born in Trinchera,Colorado on October 6, 1938 went home to be with Jesus on June 23, 2026.
Known by loved ones as “Marie” “Grandma Larie” & “Re”peacefully completed her journey with loved ones by her side.
Born to Louis Barela and Carmelita Gomez Barela. Marie was one of seven children.
On July 25, 1964, joined in Holy Matrimony at Trinidad Catholic Church, Rose Marie Barela Married her Loving Husband Porfirio Sanchez.
Together they created a beautiful family; Son’s; Henry “Hank”Sanchez, Lawrence “Aaron”Sanchez, Anthony “Tony” Sanchez, and only Daughter Mary Ellen (Gerald Sr) Armijo, and a baby the Lord chose as an angel Baby Anthony.
Marie and Porfirio Sanchez Lived their lives filled with tons of love from their children, which then turned into an even bigger family when they welcomed grandchildren; Lisa (Raul)Campos, John Sanchez, Steven Sanchez, Anthony Sr(Ashley)Sanchez, Gerald (Sandy) Armijo, Angelique(Brandon), Monique (Eric)and Tj.
They’re loving family became even sweeter with great grandchildren Austin Campos, Alisha, Vince Campos, Fayth,Chastity, Sheriah,DeNayjah , Isaac,Isaiah,Santiino,Sereniity, Santiiago,Emiliano,Anthony Jr,Zaviiana,Bella, Violet,Great great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Enzo, Gabriel, Liliana, and AJ.
Marie shared a loving relationship with all of her nieces and nephews, and mother-in-law, father-in-law Felicita Tapia Sanchez and Jose P Sanchez. Niece Carmelita, Nephew Ernie and Niece Joanne Garduno shared a special place in her heart always checking on her with calls and kind words.
Marie, a sweet loving woman of God was one of the best homemakers known. A wonderful cook with some of her best dishes being tamales burritos, chili beans,stuffing, cream puffs and her Empanaditas, these delicious dishes will greatly be missed by her family.
Marie enjoyed Cripple Creek trips with family, her huge yard sales, scratching tickets, parking in town watching traffic with her husband and coloring lovely pictures with grandchildren. Marie will also be remembered for her spotless home one of the cleanest ladies ever known, a safe, loving home, all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren will forever miss. Visiting with her family brought joy to her heart, a smile to her face and filled her heart completely. Her family completed her.
Marie will be missed dearly! As Our family mourn her, We also find comfort that she is now reunited with all of her loved ones that went before her especially her Parents, Husband, Siblings, Sons and her Hito John .
Forever missed, loved deeply, cherished forever and never forgotten our Angel Rose Marie.
Carrying Grandma Marie to rest will be Pallbearers Grandsons;Gerald Armijo Anthony Sanchez, TJ Apodaca and Great Grandsons; Vince Campos, Santiino Sanchez, Santiiago Sanchez
Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandson Steven Sanchez, Granddaughters; Angelique, Monique, Lisa, Great Granddaughters; Fayth, Sheriah, DaNayjah, Sereniity, Zaviiana,Violet, Bella, and Liliana.
Services will be on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with the Rosary at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 12:30pm, Mass will be held at Holy Catholic Church at 1:00pm with graveside services following at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
