In Loving Memory of Charlie Montoya

Charlie Montoya, age 84, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018 in Raton, New Mexico.

Memorial Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 9, 2018 and Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Des Moines, New Mexico with Fr. John Brasher as Celebrant. Dinner will follow at the Des Moines School Cafeteria.

Charlie Montoya was born on April 30, 1934 in Corrumpa, New Mexico to Conrado Montoya and Petra (Marquez) Montoya. He was raised in the Corrumpa Valley and graduated from Grenville High School in Grenville, New Mexico. Charlie joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. He lived in Indianapolis, Indiana for many years. Charlie was a member of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Des Moines, New Mexico and the Knights of Columbus, St. Juan Diego Council # 15974. He as an avid outdoors man and he loved hunting, fishing and sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister-in-law; Lorene Montoya.

WIFE: Sheron Montoya of Des Moines, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER: Sandy Gallegos of Thornton, Colorado.

1 SON: Charlie Martinez and his wife Tonia of Redlands, California.

1 STEP-SON: Doug Chismon and his wife Amy of Indianapolis, Indiana.

6 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

5 SISTERS: Patricia Gregory and her husband Richard of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janet Valdez, Linda Muniz and her husband Sammy, Mary Lopez and her husband Jim and Bernadette Fernandez and her husband Carlos all of Des Moines, New Mexico.

2 BROTHERS: Conrado Montoya, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee and James Montoya and his wife Hope of Lakewood, Colorado.
