It was another windy cool but sunny morning as Raton took to the field after an hour delay due to a miscommunication with the two athletic directors for Tierra Encantada who showed up at the high school about 11:00 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. start Saturday morning.
Once the game got under way it looked like it would be a fairly good game as Tierra scored one run and then held Raton scoreless in the first inning. Raton then put the defense on the field and held Tierra scoreless after which Raton went through the lineup and put 10 runs in the scorebook rather than on the blank scoreboard. The accident last week took out all the controls for the lights and the scoreboard at Gabrielle Field so things have to be done the old fashioned way for now.
Raton held Tierra scoreless the remainder of the game while they scored five runs and three runs to end the game after 4 1/2 innings on the 10 run rule. This give Raton an undefeated 6-0 district record as the end of the season nears.
