Due to the welcome rain the RHS Homecoming Powder Puff football game was moved from its usual Wednesday evening time slot to Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. and the game was played under warm sunny skies.
The Juniors took the field with one thing in mind and that was to win the game and that they did in fine fashion as K’Myiah Romero stepped across the goal line for the Juniors first score of the evening. that was followed up by a couple more scores before halftime, holding the seniors scoreless.
At halftime the boys took the field as they were suited up for cheer and they gave the crowd a show with some high flying acrobatics and fancy dance moves the way only the boys can make.
After the half the junior girls were at it again this time inside the 10 yard line the senior boys mad their way onto the field and stole the football and sprinted south down the field with the junior boys in hot pursuit. The juniors finally caught up with the ball carrier and it was a pile on down near the south goal line.
Once the ball made it back to the north end of the field the junior girls added another six points and would go on to win the game 32-12.
After the game the Junior Boys were awarded the trophy for their cheer performance at halftime and the girls took the trophy for the game. All posted for the after game photo with lots of smiles.
