Both JV and Varsity Go the Distance as Cimarron Wins in Five

Wow! what an afternoon of volleyball in Tiger Gym Saturday afternoon as the Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Rams for the Homecoming volleyball match in Tiger Gym where both the JV and Varsity matches went the distance.

In the JV match all three games were close with Raton starting off taking the lead after a tie at five. The teams would tie the game again at 20 with Raton eventually taking the lead for the win. In game two Cimarron took the lead and held on to it the remainder of the game to force the match into the tie breaker. In the tie breaker it was a tie game at 11 and 13. Raton managed to take the lead and get the points for the 15-13 win.

The varsity took the court and oh what a match it became as both teams played to win. Raton took the early lead and at one point was up by 10 points. The Lady Rams found a spark and it was a tie game at 22 and 23. Raton managed to find the handle and take the win. In game two it was a close game all the way to the end with a tie game at 24 before Cimarron managed to pull it out for the win.

In game three it was another repeat and the gym came alive as the teams had a tie game at 20 and again at 24. Cimarron however found the spots for the scores and pulled out the win again by two. Game four say Raton take the lead after a tie game at 11. Raton managed to pull out the win with tough play a the net and several long volleys. In the tie breaker Cimarron pulled out in front after a tie game at three. The Lady Rams played the net and made the hits and block for the points and finally the win.
