In Memory of Mary Ernestine “Tina” Sintas

Mary Ernestine “Tina” Sintas, age 75, a resident of Albuquerque, was called home to our Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2014. She was born March 27, 1938 in Clayton, NM to Eduardo Sintas and Maria Elisa (Salazar) Sintas. Tina worked many years for the Town of Clayton, and for the State of New Mexico. She also worked under the administration of Governor Toney Anaya. Upon moving to Albuquerque, she worked for the University of New Mexico for the Dean at the College of Education. After retirement, she worked several years as a private sitter/caregiver. Her love and faith in God was evident every day, her love of life, along with her passion for reading, and her practice of poetry. She had a long illness for several years, and had been under multiple home health care agencies, and hospice. We especially give thanks to Presbyterian Hospice of Albuquerque for their wonderful care in her last days. Tina was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Sintas; Jack Sintas; Jess Trujillo; Eli Sintas; and Johnny Lou Sintas; her sisters, Pauline Montoya; Mary Arguello; Gertrude Aragon; and Clorinda Ortiz; nephews, Eddie Boy Sintas; Steven Ortiz; David Arguello; and Clyde Trujillo; nieces, Patricia Apodaca; and Teresa Sintas. She was the last survivor of the Sintas’ family. Survivors include a sister in law, Marianna Sintas; two brothers-in-law, Sam Arguello and Gilbert Ortiz. Tina is also survived by two nieces very special to her, as well as other nieces and nephews and their respective families, many friends and neighbors.
