Charles E. Hood Sr. age 73 of Raton, NM, passed away Wednesday February 26, 2014 in Raton. He was born September 9, 1940 in Epps, Louisiana the son of Charlie L. and Allie L. Humble-Hood. Mr. Hood worked in maintenance for the public school system for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Raton.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy Sepulvado, and one brother, James L. Hood. He is survived by his wife Mary Hood of the home, one daughter Charmaine Hood of New Orleans, LA, two sons, Christopher E. Hood Sr. and wife Jeana of Raton, and Charles E. Hood Jr. and wife Diane of Dickenson, ND. One sister Margie Ivey and husband Albert of Shreveport, LA, one brother William Hood of Coco Beach, Fla. Three grandchildren Christopher Hood Jr., Savannah Hood and Tabitha Walters.
Visitation will be Monday March 3, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday March 4, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Raton with Pastor Mark Crottinger officiating. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton.
The family would like to thank Sangre de Cristo and the Raton Nursing and Rehab for their excellent care and compassion.
