In Memory of Joe Max Martinez

Joe Max Martinez, age 41, died Friday, January 10, 2014 in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico.

Rosary was recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14 and Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Joel Bugas, Celebrant. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Joe Max Martinez was born on February 24, 1972 in Clayton, New Mexico to Jose Roybal and Mary Martinez. He grew up in Clayton where he attended grade school and high school. Joe was self employed and loved being outside working on cars, lawns, trees and any other kind of work that allowed him to be outside. He stopped working so much after October of 2012 when he got sick. They lived in several towns throughout New Mexico, including Espanola, Ojo Sarco, Las Vegas, Tucumcari, Clovis, Melrose and Ft. Sumner. Joe was preceded in death by his father; Jose Roybal in 1985, grandmother; Christina E. Martinez in 2000, a daughter; Alexandria Martinez and an unborn grandchild in 2013, an aunt; Victoria Padilla in 1997, grandfather; Thomas Martinez in 1988 and grandmother Amada Jaramillo in 1999.

WIFE: Lupe Martinez of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico.

4 DAUGHTERS: Esperanza Martinez, Sarah Martinez and Jolene Martinez all of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico and Andrea Martinez of Clovis, New Mexico.

1 SON: Jospeh Martinez and his wife Rosie of Clovis, New Mexico.

MOTHER: Mary Martinez of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SISTERS: Jessica Martinez and her husband Ricky of Clayton, New Mexico and Beverly Martinez of Odessa, Texas.

1 BROTHER: Anthony Martinez and his wife Patsy of Amarillo, Texas.

FATHER-IN-LAW and MOTHER-IN-LAW: Cesario and Emily Sena of Melrose, New Mexico.

4 GRANDCHILDREN: Demitri Garrett, Deante Garrett, D-Adrian Garrett, Jr. and Tristan Navario.

And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
