In Memory of Glada Marvis Sanderson

Glada Marvis Sanderson passed away quietly at home in Raton, NM on November 25, 2013 after a long illness. Glada was born February 22, 1931 to Wilburn Franklin Morgan and Cora Estelle Ross Morgan in Lubbock County, Texas.

She came to Raton in the summer of 1957 with her husband Joel C. Sanderson, Sr. and daughter Marcia Anne.

She was appointed Justice of the Peace in Precinct 31 in 1962. Over the next twenty years she served as Municipal Judge, Magistrate Judge and Federal Magistrate.

She is survived by her husband Joel C. Sanderson, Sr. and four children, Marcia A. Cunico and husband Steve of Raton, NM and Phoenix, AZ, Sandra S. Sanderson of the family home, Joel C. Sanderson Jr. and wife Catherine of Raton, NM and Steven S. Sanderson and wife Frances of Los Alamos, NM., seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Franklin Arden Morgan and wife Jean of Albuquerque, NM, sister-in-law Louise Sanderson of Rome, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glada was a wonderful woman who will be sadly missed by friends and family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to the Sangre De Cristo Hospice, 186 Hospital Dr. Raton, NM 87740.

Funeral services for Glada Marvis Sanderson will be held on Monday December 2, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton with Bill Gliddon officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Masonic Cemetery in Trinidad, Colorado.

Arrangements and celebration of love for Glada Marvis Sanderson are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton, NM.
