Kelly was a loving father, son, brother, grandpa, and friend to so many. To know Kelly was to love him.
Kelly was preceded in death by his beloved son, Isaiah Gonzales, whose memory he carried with him always.
Kelly is survived by his loving son, Kelly Gonzales, his loving daughter, Camille Gonzales, Mother of his children, Georgia Sintas, and by his loving grandson, Isaias Gonzales. Survived by his parents, Leonard and Sally Gonzales. Brother, Leonard, and wife Vivian Gonzales. Brother Richie and wife Tammy Gonzales. Sister Barbie Gonzales. Sister Susan Gonzales and husband Terri. His Uncle Bob Gonzales, Uncle John Lopez, and Aunt Ida Romero. As well as numerous Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and Friends.
Kelly graduated from Raton High School in 1990, where he excelled in both football and baseball and proudly celebrated a state championship victory during his senior year. Those who knew him in his younger years remember his lifelong friendships he built—friendships rooted in loyalty, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Kelly had a personality that filled a room. He was known for his incredible sense of humor and his unique habit of giving everyone nicknames—each one thoughtfully chosen and never forgotten. He had a way of making people feel seen and valued, and he could make a friend anywhere he went. A funny story or a lighthearted adventure was always close by when Kelly was around.
Kelly often told many stories of his younger years about hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family. Whether in the mountains or around a campfire, those were some of his happiest moments—especially when shared with family.
Throughout his life, Kelly worked in many trades, including carpentry and welding, but many knew him as a True “Jack of All Trades.” He was an extremely talented carpenter who took pride in home renovations, hardwood flooring, roofing, and any project that came his way. If something needed to be built or fixed, Kelly was the one you called. His hands built more than structures—they built security and comfort for those he loved.
Above all, Kelly’s greatest pride and joy were his children: Kelly, Camille, and Isaiah. He loved and cherished every moment spent with them. His family meant everything to him, and the love he gave will continue to live through them.
Kelly will be remembered for his laughter, his spirit, his loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed; the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
