After completing his military service, Joe moved to Raton, where he later met and married his wife, Helen. Together, they built their life, home, and raised their family in the Raton community.

Joe was a dedicated family man above all else. He took great pride in caring for and supporting his loved ones. A true jack‑of‑all‑trades, he excelled in construction and masonry and worked in corrections at the Raton County Jail. Later, he managed and maintained several properties as a landlord.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially during their beloved poker nights, which created many lasting memories. Joe was also an avid bowler and participated in both the men’s and couples’ leagues. A devoted Catholic, Joe faithfully attended Mass and the rosary and proudly served and volunteered his time as a member of the Carmelite Society for many years.

Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
