In Loving Memory of Betty Antonucci

Betty (Griffeth) Antonucci, age 86, of Raton, NM passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 with the comfort of her family by her side.

Betty was born on August 14, 1939, in Raton, New Mexico.  She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Central High School.  She was married to her beloved husband Frank for 64 years and they enjoyed a lifetime of adventures.  She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and the many hours she spent searching for arrowheads with her dear Uncle Chris Cunico.  She was an exceptional baker, sewer, quilter, counted cross stitcher and pasta maker.  She was especially proud of an article published in the Santa Fe New Mexican featuring her famous Potica bread recipe which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends during the holidays.   Betty was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Patrick – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and proud member of the MCMC Hospital Auxiliary.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Frank Antonucci, her parents James Vergil Griffeth, Enos Griffeth Dell and step father Tony Dell; her brothers Billy and James Griffeth and sister Laura Burr.

She is survived by her son Alan Antonucci and wife Michael Anne of Raton, NM; sister Barbara Peitz and husband Ron of Pueblo, Colorado.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.  Betty will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Robin Pilley and Caitlin Romero with Anvoi and the BeeHive staff for their quality care and compassion.

Recitation of the most holy Rosary will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant.  Inurnment to follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  A reception will be held at the Raton Convention Center (downstairs) following the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the MCMC Hospital Auxiliary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home.
