In Loving Memory of Woodrow Russell “Woody” Day

Woodrow Russell “Woody” Day, age 87, died on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at his home near Texline, Texas.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services are pending at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Woodrow Russell “Woody” Day was born on July 18, 1938, in Dalhart, Texas to James G. Day and Bessie (Neal) Day. Woody attended Clayton High School where he was the record holder in the one-mile run. He graduated from Clayton high school in 1957. Woody ranched in the Texline area all of his life. He was the club champion at the Clayton Golf Club more than once and he loved playing softball for the Old Goats. In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Day and a sister Peggy Zagar.

SURVIVORS:

1 DAUGHTER: Kelly Day of Texline, Texas.

1 SON: Dennis Day and his wife Jan of New Haven, Kentucky.

7 GRANDCHILDREN: Tiffany, Susan, Holli, Misti, Rocky, Wendi and Colt.

11 Great-Grandchildren.

1 BROTHER: Charlie Day of Sedan, New Mexico.

And numerous nieces and nephews that were all very important to him.
