Pottery Course @ A.R. Mitchell ~ Nava Ceramics and A.R. Mitchell Museum of Western Art

Monday, January 6th to Wednesday, January 29th
This is a four week overview of basic ceramic technique. The class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 pm.
* Week One: Hand-building instruction with pinch pots, coil construction and introduction to the Slab roller.
*Week Two: Slab building and Intro to Throwing on the Wheel.
*Week Three: Throwing cups, bowls,and cylinders with lids. Intro to glazing, carving and texture.
*Week Four: Glazing and surface decoration. Finishing touches and party.
I have taught pottery for over seven years with Trinidad Arts Council. I am happy to be back working with the folks at the A. R. Mitchell to bring you a basic overview of the pottery and sculpture techniques I have to share.
The cost is $200 for this four week course meeting twice a week.
Clay will be available to purchase from the Mitchell and some tools will be provided. This is a fun and therapeutic way to spend the beginning of our new year!
