Della Mae Butt, age 98, of Raton, New Mexico. Passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2026. She was born on May 11th, 1928, at Philmont Scott Ranch in Cimarron, NM. She was the eldest daughter of William Atchison and Elda Clyburne.
Della Mae graduated from high school in 1946. She married Harold Butt in 1949. She was a telephone operator, a bookkeeper, a seamstress, a baker, and a clerk at Ace Hardware. She was also a member of the Queen Esther Chapter 1 of the Eastern Star for over 75 years. Della Mae is survived by her daughter, Judy, and son-in-law Robert Horner of Raton, NM. Rainbeaux, Aidan and Arianna Trujillo of Las Cruces, NM. Terence, J’ette, Tajette Tyra and Robert Ray Horner of Sapello, New Mexico. Her son Cecil, daughter-in-law Donna, and Samantha of Garner, NC. Chris, Jessica, Amy and Clinton of Connecticut and Rhode Island. Her sister Marvel Thompson of Colorado Springs, CO; numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold and her sister Vera Lain.
