Dear family, I last saw Eleanor at Margaret O’Quinn’s funeral in July. I was shocked to read this obituary; I had not heard of her death. Your Mom, Grandmother, Sister,Aunt was always good to me while teaching at Des Moines school. She had a wealth of knowledge and I saw her love for children, learning, reading, life. I have good memories. She was generous with teaching supplies gathered over the years. I just recently passed along a wonderful book of patterns for classroom she had given me. I used it often. I remember laughing with her. Meeting her on road after she retired or at her Folsom house. I wrote to her in Raton over a year ago, but we lost touch. Just 2 weeks ago, I spotted the “Sam” books in a big store & thot I must tell Eleanor. I remember her trying to market those simple beginning readers & I had hopes that it would fly for her. She could be prickly, but I always knew she loved with a big heart. My sincerest sympathy. nora
