Sugarite Canyon State Park announces the Weekend’s Activity Program for Fri. – Mon. (Memorial Day), May 27-30, 2016:
FRIDAY:
7 p.m. Leave it to Beaver! Lake Alice Campground.
Come learn about the beavers of Sugarite and how they help protect water for dry New Mexico.
SATURDAY:
9 a.m. Coffee with a Ranger! Lake Alice Campground. Join us for coffee, hot chocolate & doughnuts. Topic: Camping Safety.
10 a.m. Nature Hike! Lake Alice Campground.
Join a ranger on a guided nature hike along Chicorica Creek. Bring sunscreen, water, hiking shoes, and hats.
SUNDAY:
9 a.m. Coal Camp Tour! Visitor Center.
Explore coal camp life in this 2.5 hour guided hike. Bring sunscreen, water, hiking shoes, and hats.
MONDAY:
11 a.m. Wildlife Safety! Soda Pocket Amphitheater.
Come learn about the different wildlife in Sugarite Canyon and how to safely interact with them.
