Lady Blue Remain Undefeated in District Play Take District Championship

The Lady Blue hosted the Lady Demons in Roy New Mexico on Friday night February 27 for the District 5A championship game and marked the win column for the 11th time in district play as they remain undefeated in the district.
Quarter one saw the Lady Demons take the lead and then the Lady Blue as the quarter quickly drew to a close it was an 11-7 Lady Blue lead. As the game continued a strong Blue defense held the Lady Demons to only three points in the second quarter and the teams headed into the locker room with a 29-11 Lady Blue lead.
The Lady Demons struggled to make the shots from the field but made up for it at the free throw line as going six of eight. The ladies only managed five points from the field for the first half of play as Alison Poling popped a three and Kay Ward hit a two pointer.
Reagan Doherty, Tayla Proffitt and Dylan Clavel were the only point getters for Roy/Mosquero in the first half and all but one were from inside the 3-point line as the girls worked the ball inside for the sure shot close to the basket.
During the second half of play the Lady Blue held the Lady Demons at bay not allowing the outside shots to be made. As the final buzzer sounded on the district championship game it was a 61-28 win for Roy/Mosquero as they remained undefeated in district play.
