In Loving Memory of Lourdes Rivera

Lourdes Rivera passed away on Monday September 1, 2025 at her home in Clayton, New Mexico.

 

SERVICES: Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Joji Konkala as celebrant. Graveside services will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico. BACKGROUND: Lourdes Rivera was born on October 8, 1947, in Virac Bay, Cantanduanes, Philippines to Vicente Sta Ines and Paulina (Quintal) Sta Ines. She moved to Seattle, Washington then to Santa Ana, California in 1971 and later to Cerritos, California before moving to Clayton, New Mexico in July of 1985. Lourdes started working at Loves Convenience Store and then went to work as a Jailer for the Clayton Police Department where she worked with her good friend Bobbie Long for many years. When the prison opened in Clayton Lourdes and Bobbie went to work for the prison for several more years. Lourdes later worked for Allsup’s Convenience store. Lourdes married Dante Rivera on September 8, 2016 in Clayton. Lourdes was preceded in death by her parents, by her son David Michael Tufte and a son and daughter in the Philippines, by seven brothers and sisters and by her very close friend Bobbie Long.

 

SURVIVORS:

 

HUSBAND: Dante Rivera of Clayton, New Mexico.

 

6 Grandchildren in the Philippines.

 

4 Brothers and Sisters all in the Philippines.

 

Numerous nieces and nephews including Anna Ortiz of Bartow, Florida.

 

And several very close friends including, Linda Ward, Greg Ward and Karley (Long) Valdez.
