Carmen Sandoval, age 92, of Trinidad Colorado, passed on April 14, 2026.
Carmen was born on born in Pasamonte, NM on December 24, 1933, to his father Robert Sandoval and his mother Lonicia (Chavez) Sandoval. He grew up in Pasamonte, NM, and the family later moved to Clayton, NM and spent the rest of his life in Trinidad, CO.
Carmen worked for the Burlington Northern Railway and retired after a long career for the railroad. Carmen served for many years on the Trinidad town council and was later elected mayor of Trinidad and served on the Board for the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Carmen is survived by his wife Sandra Agusto and her daughter Camellia Meta. His sister Esther Udkler and his brothers Dennis Sandoval and Paul Sandoval. His sons Robert Sandoval and his wife Mindy Lewis, Richard Sandoval and his wife Catherine Sandoval, granddaughter Corey Sandoval Groso, granddaughter Darla Sandoval and her son Justin Sandoval and family, Deidra Sandoval and her son Andrew Sandoval. Grandson Matthew Sandoval and his children Robert Sandoval, Elena Sandoval, Isabel Sandoval, and David Sandoval.
Carmen was preceded in death by his father and mother, his former wife Katherine Sandoval. His son Andrew Sandoval and his daughter Pamela Sandoval. His sisters are Isabel Silva, Lue Speed, Teresina Sanchez, and Rose Chavez. His brothers are Orlando Sandoval and Ernest Sandoval.
A viewing will be held at Comi Funeral Home, 1804 E Main Street, Trinidad, CO on Thursday April 23, 2026, at 2:00PM – 6:00PM and will be buried with a graveside service on Friday April 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
