Reymundo M. Gutierrez

Reymundo M. Gutierrez, age 83, peacefully passed away on August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born on April 24, 1942, in Canoncito (Sandia Park), NM. Reymundo retired from the Raton Water Works Department more than 20 years ago. Reymudo had a zest for life, loved fishing, hunting, visiting with his friends, listening to NM Spanish Music, and enjoyed working DIY projects around the house.
Reymundo leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and heart-warming memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Gloria Gutierrez, his children Anthony Vigil, Agnes Vigil, Wayne Vigil, and Raylene Gutierrez Knight husband Joel Knight. Also survived by grandchildren James, Klarissa, Karmella, Shelby, Leah, Xanadu, Michael, Angelica, Reyna, Amber, Erin, April, Randyn, Julianna, Ramsey, Rhett, and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by Dawna Apodaca (Anthony) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who revered and loved him dearly. Reymundo is reunited in heaven with his son Daniel Vigil, and his parents Melcor and Flora Gutierrez, along with brothers Donaciano, Hermenes, Luis, and Gilberto Gutierrez.
He was a member of Saint Patrick’s -Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree, of the Knights of Columbus.
Pallbearers are grandsons James Vigil, Maleki Vigil, Michael Martinez, Randyn Knight, Ramsey Knight, and son-in-law Joel Knight.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 12:00 at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, recited by the Knights of Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mount Calvery Cemetery.
