In Loving Memory of Lois Ellen Sumpter Jolly

Lois Ellen Sumpter Jolly

Lois E. Jolly, 85, passed peacefully on September 3, 2024, at home with Jack by her side, to be with our Lord, relatives and friends. She was born on July 4, 1939, in La Junta, Colorado to Howard B. and Thelma C. Corbin Sumpter. Lois graduated from Kim High School in Kim, Colorado in 1958. Lois married Jack Jolly on December 16, 1958, in Trinidad, Colorado at the United Methodist Church. She loved being in the community visiting with people and always had a smile. Lois and Jack were 4-H leaders, founding the Crossed Arrows 4-H club. They also were members of the Branson Hiking Club for over 15+ years. Jack and Lois loved being on the ranch and taking care of the cows and horses. Lois was a member of the Bluebell Hobby Club for over 60 years. Lois was also a 20+ year volunteer at the Colorado Welcome Center in Trinidad. She loved bowling and spent much time on bowling leagues and making friends. Lois and Jack spent many miles traveling with their friends.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Jolly of Trinidad, her three sons, Michael (Jeanette) Jolly, Trinidad, daughters Janay, Fort Collins and Jacqueline Jolly, Trinidad. Donald (Judy) Jolly, their son Jake Jolly, Del Norte and Ila Jolly of Campion, Colorado. Brian (Kari Ann) Jolly and daughter Korbyn of Loveland.

She is also survived by brother, Howard Sumpter of Kim, brother Richard (Cindy) Sumpter of Fowler and Sister-in-Law, Billee Sumpter of Branson as well as many other nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Thelma Sumpter, Brothers, Billy Sumpter and James Sumpter.

Services for Lois will be Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00am at the First Christian Church, 200 South Walnut St, Trinidad, Colorado. Visitation will be September 12, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Comi Funeral Home, 1804 East Main St, Trinidad. Pallbearers are Joseph Amato, Justin Sumpter, Jeremy Sumpter, Wade Sumpter, Bradley Sumpter, and David Sumpter. Honorary pallbearers will be all her family and friends. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Trinidad, Colorado.
