Born in Raton, New Mexico, she’s traveled and lived in Grants, N.M., Montana, Denver CO., and Texas.Maria was known for having a deep love for animals! Music and her plants, and of course her fishing. Maria loved to fish!! She’d be the first to show up and the last to leave. She loved playing cards, games, and would challenge anyone in a game of horseshoes and she’d probably win.
Survived by her daughter’s Angel Cordova and Victoria Salas, grandbabies Edrys, Nani, Malaya Tanner, Yael Garcia and Elena Martinez.
Brothers and sisters, Leona and Ron Pacheco, Diana Gomez, Paula and George, Hector and Anna Casarez, Leonard and Sandra Casarez, Andrew Casarez and Dickie Barela.
Maria will be deeply missed; her laughter filled a room with joy. Her presence brought in so many people. She made everyone feel welcomed and comfortable and wouldn’t leave anyone out. She was the rock of the family, and friends will miss her deeply. May her memory never be forgotten.
A memorial will be held in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23 at 11 AM; we will then celebrate her life at her favorite spot at Lake Maloya. All friends and family are encouraged to join.
