In Loving Memory of Kenneth Burnell (Ken) Edens

Kenneth Burnell (Ken) Edens of Ute Park, NM went home to be with Jesus on May 29, 2026.  He was born in Miami, OK on May 23, 1943 to Lee Ross and Retha May Edens.

He graduated from Miami High School in Miami, OK in 1961 and attended college at Oklahoma State University until he volunteered to serve in the Army.  He was a member of DET B-52 5th SFG during Vietnam.  Post war, Ken would go on to become an accomplished bush pilot in Alaska as well as serving as a law enforcement officer in Houston and Miami, OK.  But his biggest enjoyment was his small cattle ranch in the hills of northeastern Oklahoma.

He met his wife, Wanda, in Houston and they married on February 14, 1975.  They relocated to his Oklahoma ranch in 1976.  After leaving his beloved ranch, they retired to Ute Park, NM in 1993.  He was introduced to Ute Park by his parents who had come to the area in 1928 on their honeymoon.  He kept busy with various projects and loved all the critters that are in the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Retha Edens, sister Pat Summers and brother Jerry Edens, sisters-in-law Jan Walters and Judy Michmershuizen, brothers-in-law Rob Eastman and David Fifer.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda, brothers-in-law Jerry Walters of Waco, TX, and Carroll Michmershuizen of Newton, Iowa.  Sisters-in-law Karen Edens of Georgetown, TX, Sherry Fifer of Newton, Iowa and Joni Eastman of Plano, TX.  Several nieces and nephews as well as many cousins in the Miami, OK area.  And many other extended family and cherished friends.
