Elizabeth M. Baca Poe passed away May 12, 2026, with her daughter by her side. She was born February 19, 1954, in Raton, NM to Barbara and Trinidad Baca, the fourth of five children.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Rick, her parents, grandson Jaron, her brothers Tony and Rudy and her sister Jeanne, her in-laws Ward and Barbara Poe., as well as her brother-in-law Dwayne Vowell.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Sandoval of Colorado who had the honor of being her caregiver for the last 15 years; her son Jarrod Sandoval of Raton, NM and children Shelbe, Christian (April), Jordan (Yulie); as well as her step-daughters Rikki Poe of Albuquerque and children Warrick, Torren, Cale ; and Natalie Poe (Mohamed) of Denver, CO and 4 children. Great-grandchildren Delisia, Sincere, Kalonji, Noah, Damion and Julianna.
She also leaves behind her sister Barbara (Bobbi) Vowell of Clinton, OK, sister-in-law Nancy Espinoza (Tony) of Thornton, CO as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She worked in several industries throughout her life including retail and medical. She had her own business in DME and Oxygen. Unfortunately, she spent 15 years fighting kidney failure. She was so strong, never wanted to leave her children and fought so hard to be here as long as she could. Breaking her hip two months ago was just too much for her poor little body to take no matter how bad she wanted to come back home. She had a reputation for making people feel special, heard, loved and always respected and instilled those values in her family.
She chose not to have a service.
She loved so hard and unconditional. Her children and grandchildren were everything and will spend the rest of their lives honoring and loving her. We would like to extend our appreciation to Parker Kidney Center; Drs. Dominguez, Alemdew, Mohmand and Kang. Everyone at Parker Advent Health and Vibra Hospital.
