In Loving Memory of Felidelfio “Phil” Chavez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Felidelfio “Phil” Chavez. Phil was born and raised in Cimarron and later moved to Raton, where he worked in the coal mines for 32 years while building a life and raising a family. Following his retirement, Phil and his wife, Sarah, made their home in Pueblo.

Phil was known for his friendly nature and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He truly never met a stranger. He cherished the many friendships he built throughout northern New Mexico and southern Colorado and could often be found sharing stories and laughter over morning coffee at his local Burger King.

A faithful Catholic, Phil lived a life grounded in faith, kindness, and service to others. In retirement, he found joy in volunteering at the local hospital in Pueblo, where his warm personality and caring heart touched many lives.

Phil is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; his two sons; two stepdaughters; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
