PUBLIC INFORMATION NOTICE
Earthquake Near Weston, Colorado
A magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded just south of Weston. At this time, this is
classified as a light earthquake. Shaking may have been noticeable across the
surrounding region, but earthquakes of this size typically cause little to no serious
structural damage.
Residents are encouraged to remain calm while taking sensible precautions.
What to Expect
Minor items may have shifted or fallen inside homes and businesses.
Small cosmetic cracks in drywall or plaster can occur.
Some residents may experience additional aftershocks, which are usually smaller
than the initial earthquake.
