Theresa Carreon, age 77, of Westminster, CO; beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin passed into the arms of our Lord on May 23, 2026. Theresa’s battle with Lewy Body Dementia was a difficult one, however she never lost her faith and ability to light up a room with her smile.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents Pete and Mary Maldonado, brother Roger Maldonado, sister Flora Acosta. We find comfort knowing that the joyful reunion must have been beautiful and beyond words. She was anxiously waiting to see them again.
Theresa is survived by her daughters Donna Velasquez (John Castro), Dolores Velasquez (Joe Lujan), 4 grandchildren, Anthony, Juliette, Celeste and Ashley, all of Denver, 7 great grandchildren, Jaelyn, Elenna, Alycia, Emmett, Emily, Nevaeh, Roslynn, Denver, 2 great-great grandchildren, Amelia and Analaya. Sisters; Susie Litherland, FL, Lori Tapia, CA, Connie (Randy) Ryan, OK, Debbie (Ron) Barros, Trinidad, numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend Jesse Carreon.
If you were blessed to be loved by Theresa, you knew the true meaning of being loved. She was kind and funny and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Theresa loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, body and mind. She will be greatly missed and for those of us who loved her, we will be left with a hole in our hearts. The family finds peace in knowing that she is in the hands of our Lord, and in knowing that “we will see her again”.
