Victor E. Alderette Jr. (Sonny) age 79, was called to Heaven on April 25, 2026 at his home in Raton, NM. Victor was born to Victor Alderette Sr. and Selena Valenzuela on June 27, 1946 in Raton, NM.
Victor is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Selena Alderette, maternal grandparents Benito and Senaida Valenzuela, and paternal grandparents Redusindo and Regina Alderette. Brother Johnny Alderette, Alex Alderette, Gloria Alderette, Charles Alderette, Chris Alderette, sister Patsy Alderette-Garcia, nephew Lawrence Alderette, and grandson Matthew Garcia-Alderette. Uncle Billy Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Lupita Alderette. His sons Vince and wife Diana Alderette of Springer, NM., Chris and wife Lelah Alderette of Las Vegas, NM., Josh Alderette, Matthew Alderette and companion Donna, Michael and wife Amanda Alderette of Raton, NM. Grandchildren: Victoria Alderette-Mwenguo (Howard), Manchester, NH., Nathaniel Alderette (Jae) of Albuquerque, NM., Elijah Alderette (Aspen) of Ocean Side, CA., Aedin Alderette of Las Vegas, NM., Athena Alderette of Raton, NM, Jenna Alderette, Araceli Alderette, Latiesha Alderette, Aliana Alderette of Raton, NM., Great-grandchildren: DeAngelo, Kaius, Anakin, Angelina, Giovanni, Neveah.
Victor is also survived by his brother Deacon Thomas and Carol Alderette of Raton. Sisters; Maryann and Jeff Barenburg of Amarillo, TX., Regina and Russ Jaramillo of Gallup, NM., Aunt Tina Valenzuela-Martinez of Raton, NM., as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
In 1994, Victor became the owner of his own funeral business, the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home. This was what he had always worked for to become a business owner. Victor spent more than 50 years in the funeral industry, beginning with managing Errington’s Memorial Chapel from 1975 to 1990. He also worked for Comi Funeral Home in Trinidad, he also managed Fairmont Cemetery during those years.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, recited by the Carmelites at 11:00 am, followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11:30 am with Father Bill Woytavich as the celebrant, burial to follow in the Fairmont Cemetery.
