In Loving Memory of William (Bill) Voegele

William (Bill) Voegele passed away on March 10, 2026.

He was born on May 21, 1948 in Raton to Virgil and Bruna Voegele.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert (Bob) Voegele, grandsons Cash Martin and Santino Schoenfelder and life long best best Randy Kuhlman.

He is survived by his companion of 19 years Tonya Schoenfelder, sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Frank Cimino, daugerts Marie Martinez and Joyce Schoenfelder and son Mason Vasquez. Grandchildren Kellin, Bella, Raylee, Mya, Carson, Jocelyn, Alli and Wyatt all of Raton.

Bill graduated from Raton High School in 1966 and attended college in both Pueblo and Trinidad and earned his degree in refrigeration and engineering. Bill traveled the world working, from New York where he worked on the World Trade Center, to China, where he helped build a coal mine.

Bill retired from York Canyon Mine and went on to work for his good friend, Ken (Chopper) Bacca where he was able to be in the mountains that he loved.

Bill loved his kids and grandchildren “puppies” very dearly and loved to pick them up from school and take them for a treat before taking them home. Bill will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. If you knew Bill, you know he had a million stories to tell and always had a sharp comment to go with his stories and he would always help anyone who would ask him for help, that’s the man he was.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 15 at Saint Patrick/Saint Joseph’s Church with the Rosary at 11 am followed by the Mass at 11:30 with Father Bill Wyotovich.

Arrangements for William (Bill) Voegele are under the direction of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home.
