The 7-8 Raton Tigers hosted the 4-5 Estancia Bears for a district game in Raton Monday afternoon April 6, 2026.
The Tigers came into the game sporting a 1-1 district record while the Bears held on to a 1-0 district record. The Bears took the lead in the first inning with solid hitting and held Raton scoreless until the third when Warren Berry finally crossed the plate for a Raton score and a 4-1 Estancia lead. The Raton outfield was busy catching the fly balls but the runs came off of ground balls in the spaces. Raton would hold Estancia scoreless in the third and fourth and cross the plate with three runners in the fourth for a tie game at four.
It was two more scoreless innings for Raton while Estancia added five runs to the blank scoreboard at Gabriele Field. Raton rallied in the bottom of the seventh but it was just a smidge too little as Estancia pulled out the win with a 9-8 final.
