In Loving Memory of Judy Ann Lucio (Mondragon)

Judy Ann Lucio (Mondragon), a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2026, at the age of 59. Her sudden loss has left her family and all who loved her holding tightly to the light she brought into their lives.

Judy Ann Lucio (Mondragon) was born to Seprano and Josephine Mondragon on June 21, 1966, in Raton, New Mexico. Judy lived with a vibrancy that was unmistakable. Her laughter—bright, contagious, and full of life—could fill any room and lift the spirits of everyone around her. She had a rare gift for turning ordinary moments into memories, and her presence brought warmth, humor, and joy wherever she went.

Judy was a proud and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering them on with the same passion and heart she poured into her family. Despite enduring profound loss, including the passing of two husbands, she continued to move through the world with remarkable resilience. Her strength was quiet but powerful, and she faced life’s hardships with courage, grace, and an unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior.

Family was the center of Judy’s world. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love was steady, unconditional, and deeply felt. She also treasured her role as a sibling—one of seven children—and carried her family bonds with pride and affection. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Seprano Mondragon; her brothers, Fred and James Mondragon; her first husband, Carlos Lucio; her husband, Rick Lucero; and her brother‑in‑law, John Scott Ellis; as well as other cherished family members whose memories she held close throughout her life.

She is survived by her mother, Josephine Mondragon; her siblings: Joan Mondragon‑Sintas and husband Gary Sintas; John Mondragon and wife Teresa Mondragon; Maria Bullard and husband Willis Bullard; and Betty Ellis; her children, Patrick E. Salazar and Tashawnda Trevino and husband Cisco Trevino; her grandchildren, Gabriel Salazar, Justin Salazar, Jeziah Salazar, Patrick Salazar, Adalicia Salazar, Zailee Campos, Zaidyn Rivera, and Zaivion Benford; and her great‑grandchildren. She leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her laughter, her spirit, and the joy she brought into their lives.

A celebration of life honoring Judy will be held on March 26, 2026, at Lighthouse Church, 1310 S. 2nd Street, Raton, NM, at 11:00 am, followed by Internment in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.  The family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating a woman whose heart was big, whose smile was unforgettable, and whose love will continue to echo through generations.

May her memory be a blessing and may the light she carried continue to shine in all who loved her.

Arrangements for Judy Ann Lucio are entrusted to the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
