The Raton city commission met on Friday evening at 5:00 p.m. December 26, 2025, for a special meeting with three items on the agenda to deal with a change order and budget adjustments.
The first item on the agenda dealt with the Taxiway A and funding for that project. The city will work up grant applications with the FAA who will cover 90% of the costs of the project and the state will cover nine percent with the city responsible for one percent of the funding. The federal grant will cover professional engineering services related to pavement maintenance on Taxiway A.
The change order covers additional work on Taxiway B with Molzen Corbin. Commissioners approved the change order which will add $28,576.67 to the project. The additional work includes a new culvert and additional conduit and duct work where the taxiway meets the primary runway.
City Treasurer Michael Anne Antonucci presented a budget adjustment to cover the new police radios and the work order change on taxiway B. Getting these changes made before the end of the year will will allow for quicker vendor payments to be made and less of a burden on the general fund.
