FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Colfax County Road Department announces the closure of a bridge on County Road A-6, also known as Canadian River Road, east of Maxwell, New Mexico, due to a bridge replacement project.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic beginning Wednesday, December 17, 2025, and will remain closed until construction of the new bridge is complete, possibly sometime next summer.
During the closure, motorists are advised to use the designated detour routes which will be clearly marked with signage.
This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the traveling public and to allow crews to complete the required work efficiently. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and use caution near the construction area.
