Charles Harold Arnett, age 78, died on Monday November 10, 2025, in Amarillo Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am MST on Saturday November 15, 2025, at the Clayton Methodist Church in Clayton New Mexico. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, NM.
Charles Harold Arnett was born October 21, 1947, in Clayton, NM to Charles John Arnett and Glenna Kathleen Smith Arnett. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1965 where he loved playing football. He furthered his education by attending The University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, and West Texas State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Charles wore many different hats throughout his lifetime. He was a rancher, cattleman, farmer, truck driver, prayer warrior, loyal friend, son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather (Ahdah). His passions were family, fellowship with much food and conversation, caring for livestock, meeting individual’s needs, and his Savior Jesus Christ. As his health issues started affecting his physical life due to early childhood polio, it did not affect his positive attitude or his love for people. His dementia progressed to the point he could no longer speak more than a few words, but he still ministered and drew to him all those that cared for him. He made friends and impacted so many lives without saying more than a few words. He had every reason to be bitter with complaint, but instead he showed kindness and love. “Dear Children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and truth”. 1-John 3:18 Charles was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Kay Arnett, parents Charles John Arnett and Glenna Smith Arnett, Father-in-Law Hugh Holland Jr. and Mother-in-Law Naomi Sunkel Holland.
