Roy Municipal Schools Earns Spotlight School Designation from NMPED

Roy, NM — The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) has officially recognized Roy Municipal Schools as one of the top 25% performing schools in the state, awarding both Roy Elementary and Roy High School the prestigious Spotlight School designation for the 2024–2025 academic year.

This honor is based on exceptional performance on the NMVistas School Index, which evaluates academic achievement, student growth, and other key indicators of educational excellence. The Spotlight designation celebrates schools that exemplify high standards and strong outcomes across New Mexico.

“I am thrilled to share that Roy Municipal Schools has been named among the top-performing schools in New Mexico! This recognition reflects the excellence, dedication, and heart of every individual who contributes to our schools.

It takes a truly exceptional team to educate, inspire, and support our students—and that team includes every single employee at Roy Municipal Schools.

To our teachers, support staff, administrators, custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, and everyone in between: thank you. Your hard work and commitment have made this achievement possible. You are the reason Roy shines as one of the top schools in New Mexico.

This achievement marks a milestone for the Roy community and highlights the district’s unwavering commitment to student success. Roy Municipal Schools continues to set a standard for excellence in education across the state.

We are proud. We are grateful. We are Roy. We are Longhorns.”
