In Loving Memory of Maria Luisa “Licha” Marquez

Maria Luisa “Licha” Marquez, 79, of Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family as she went to rest.
Affectionately known as Licha or Lichita, Maria spent most of her life in Colorado, where she built a beautiful life and loving home alongside her husband of 47 years, Roque Marquez, who lovingly survives her.
A woman of deep faith and a follower of Jehovah, Maria was known for her generous heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—searching for treasures at yard sales, cooking with love, traveling, and dancing. But nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly and held close to her heart.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Izza Valenzuela, Julia Francisca Mediano, and Josefa Mediano; and her beloved son, Roque Marquez Jr.
She is lovingly survived by her sisters, Carolina Mediano and Soledad Mediano; her daughters, Lorena Mediano, Angelica Marquez (Frank Luna), and Laura Veltri (Aaron Veltri); her grandchildren, Roque Marquez (Jessica Marquez), Francisco Marquez, Cheyenne Marquez, Jasmine James (Devon James), Christopher Luna, Nadia Contreras, Tatiana Contreras, Jocelyn Veltri, Nathaniel Veltri, and Deanna Alvarado-Veltri; and her great-grandchildren, Aspen Marquez and Adonis James.
She is also survived by many beloved extended family members, dear friends, and her spiritual brothers and sisters from the Kingdom Hall congregation.
Maria’s warmth, faith, and boundless love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
