Youth Fishing Derby

• Raton Kiwanis Club will sponsor a free Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 2 from 8 a.m.-noon. Early fishing will not be allowed. Fishing will take place in certain designated areas to be announced at the time of registration. This tournament is free and open to children aged 3 through 17. Prizes will be awarded for the heaviest live rainbow trout in two age classes (ages 3-11 and ages 12-17) and for the heaviest live rainbow trout overall. Only live fish will be eligible to be weighed. Park fees apply, but no license is required since June 2, 2018 is a free fishing day per the N.M. Department of Game and Fish.
