Crisis Standards of Care Symposium – 4 hour
Learn about Crisis Standards of Care based on evidence based and literature review to include legal and ethical challenges, stakeholder engagement, critical resource management, medical surge- alternate care sites and systems, integrating Access and Functional Needs population. Introduction of the CSC Plan followed by “real-world” scenario based discussion relative to New Mexico.

Discuss history of CSC – HHS/ASPR 2009 Institute of Medicine 2009 Letter Report – other related work Discuss CSC Framework Guidance Discuss NM DOH CSC Plan development – introduce the Plan Improve regional efforts by facilitating dialogue and coordination among all state stakeholders to collaborate and engage on issues of mutual interest and concern – future planning Discuss the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder community in implementation of standards of care protocols Examine resources, guidelines used to establish standards of care protocols to include legal and ethical challenges Identify and discuss resource requirements that will be necessary from federal, state, and regional authorities to advance and accelerate the establishment of standards of care protocols.
