Santa Fe Opera Apprentices~ Free Performances
April 9, 2015
Free admissionEach year The Santa Fe Opera takes its act on the road – offering free performances by their apprentices for school children along with free public concerts. The two Raton concerts will be at the historic Shuler Theater on Thursday, April 9th at 1:30PM and 7PM.
This spring’s performance includes an original work, Written in the Stars, which explores the relationship of words and music in opera in a delightful and engaging format for children and families. Santa Fe Opera apprentices, soprano Abigail Mitchell and baritone Shea Owens are featured singers.
The two apprentice programs provide advanced training for some of America’s most talented and dedicated young opera singers and theater technicians. Following two or three summers as program participants, many forge ahead to work at opera houses, theater companies, and in film or television, thanks to the skills and the professional relationships they have developed at The Santa Fe Opera.
