HANUKKAH ~ Holy Trinity Episcopal Church

Hanukkah, or the Festival of Lights will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 540 Rio Grande in Raton.  The first of the 8 days of Hanukkah will be on December 2nd and will begin at 6 PM.

Temple Aaron in Trinidad is unable to host this happy celebration so the traveling feast will be venturing over the pass to alight in Raton.  Everyone is invited to attend this event that commemorates the miracle of the lamps.  After a victory over the Syrian Greek Army the Jewish people needed to light the temple for 8 days but there was only enough oil for one day – miraculously the oil lasted for 8 days! Each day of Hanukkah another candle is lit representing the 8 days of the miracle until the Menorah is full and the light fills the room. December 2nd is the first day of the eight days of blessing and will culminate on the 10th of December.  Special food, music and the story of the miracle will be told…. expand your understanding, please come and join us for an interesting evening.
