6th Annual Colfax County Health Fair

Individuals of all ages from Colfax County, the surrounding areas and beyond are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to obtain important health screenings and information from exhibitors at the 6th Annual Colfax County Health Fair. This year’s event will be held Thursday, April 27th at the Raton Convention Center from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Over 40 health-related exhibitors from NM and Southeastern Colorado will be on-site to greet the 1200-1500 adult and youth participants who are expected to be in attendance. Numerous free and reduced-fee health screenings can be found throughout the convention center along with information from over 40 educational exhibitors and professionals who will have information on a wide variety of health topics. Appointments are not needed for the screenings, but will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Upon registration at one of the two main entrances to the convention center, participants will be asked to sign-in before receiving a registration bag that will include an exhibitor location map, a health history form to record health screening results and a participant evaluation form, which must be completed in order to be eligible for the many Door Prizes donated by area businesses. Participants will also receive a piece of fruit courtesy of donations from grocery stores and businesses throughout the county.
FREE Health Screenings Include:
Oxygen and Pulse performed by Tiger Den Wellness Center
Child Developmental Screenings for speech, language, motor and cognitive development. The Children’s Workshop professionals will be conducting these screenings for children birth to age three.
Genex Screening performed by Medicine Shoppe
Otoscope and audiometric screen for anyone 18 years older performed by DigiCare Hearing
Blood Glucose by MCMC

There is also a Community Blood Drive put on by United Blood Services going until Noon.
This year’s health fair sponsors are the City of Raton, Southwest Border Food Safety and Defense Center and the NMSU – Colfax County Cooperative Extension Service.
