The 4-H councils of Colfax County assembled for their annual Awards Banquet at K-Bobs Restaurant in Raton on Wednesday, October 30 as Cooperative Extension Agent, Boe Lopez welcomed the crowd of young and old to celebrate the legacy of the 77th Annual affair.
The night’s recognitions began with the five councils awarding their Friends of 4-H awards as Vermejo named Matt Chance, Springer Sunshine designated Betsy Trujillo Lovato and Tommy Crawford, Rocky Mountain spotlighted Tommy Lloyd and Andy Yates, Johnson Mesa Council singled out Sara Kowalski and Bill Donati while the County Council thanked Luella Smith for her efforts.
Truman Smith and Boe Lopez present one of the Round Robin Showman Awards to Reagan Doherty. The buckles were sponsored by Bill and Barbie Goebal, Diamond Arrow Ranch and the Colfax County Council. Other buckles were awarded to Breylin Rubio and Allison Petrini.
Troy Sauble of the Sauble Ranch presents a Goat Herdsman Award buckle to Karder Chavez.
Other Herdsman Awards went to Tyen Potter for Rabbitt; Lynn Karl for Poultry; Olivia Burton for Lamb; Elliana Long for Swine and Aaron Long for Beef.
