Joan C. Cassa-Crittenden, age 88, passed away at home on July 5, 2024.
She was born in Morley, CO on November 11, 1935, to Mary (Ferri) and Pete Cassa.
She graduated from Holy Trinity High School, attended TSJC, UNC receiving three Masters Degrees in Education
During her teaching career, she taught in various schools including Lincoln High School in Sopris, Aguilar School, John Mall in Walsenburg, Mt. Carmel School, Monroe High School in Louisiana, and Southwest City Grade School in Missouri.
She was a great softball player and loved her sports. Her favorite teams were the Denver Broncos and the New York Yankees.
She was a woman of faith and belonged to Our Lady of Perpetual Help for 27 years.
On June 27, 1986, Joan was united in marriage to Bobby S. Crittenden.
Preceding her in death are parents Mary and Pete Cassa, siblings Joe Cassa, George (Gertrude)Cassa, Elizabeth (Harry) McCluskey, Catherine (Steve) Comi, numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby S. Crittenden of Trinidad, her precious puppies Audrey and Sweetheart, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, colleagues, students, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10 AM at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow with the Trinidad Cemetery.
