When you come to me for lessons or training, you are paying for and getting more than just a few hours of my time. You are paying for years worth of knowledge, lessons learned, injuries, “wrecks”, enlightenment, understanding, regrets, and successes. You are paying for long nights of lying awake and thinking about certain horses and people that I have helped. As well as, thinking about you, your horse, and what methods or lessons are needed.
You are paying for hours of hauling hay, cleaning stalls, grooming, Doctoring injuries, checking on horses at midnight, and caring for each of them as if they were all mine. You are paying for every moment that I ever spent with a horse and all of the lessons learned from each one as well as, the lessons and experiences still to come from others.
So, “see”… My education and learning continue as hopefully, yours will. You are paying for my thoughts and concern for you and your horse after our time together and the lessons have ended. …. on second thought… You can’t put a price on the lessons taught, the knowledge learned, and experiences that happened. Nor, the feeling that you get when you “hear” and understand the language and communication between humans and horses, or the “magic” of that first “join up”. So my payment to you is that you will continue to learn, improve, and cherish every experience. That each horse you work with will be better than the ones before and that you pass on that knowledge and “magic” to others so that our journey never really ends. ❤
