Trinidad Historic Main Street with guidance from the Raton Main St., are working to help local businesses survive during the current unprecedented economic hardship. What better way than to invite everyone to your store for a virtual party? What is a cash mob, you ask? Inspired by “flash mobs,” a cash mob occurs when a group of people assembles at a business to make purchases. Since we cannot have a group of people assemble, we are going to assemble virtually using Facebook Live.
You can join the first Virtual Cash Mob on Friday, April 24th, by going to the Trinidad Historic Main Street Facebook page for a LIVE feed from 6-8 PM featuring Curly’s Bead and Gift Emporium. Camilla Campbell, the owner of Curly’s, has selected over sixty of her favorite items from her unique gift shop. A member of the Main Street group will be on-site to film Camilla LIVE as she describes, in detail, each of the items. Anyone who is watching the Facebook live event can message when he or she is interested in the purchase. The first person to offer to purchase the item is committed. Other members of Main Street board will be monitoring the Facebook event and message the buyer with instructions. The next day, Camilla will send an invoice. She will accept PayPal, cash, or check. Each buyer will arrange his or her pick-up with the shop owner.
Be sure to like “Trinidad Historic Main Street” on Facebook for announcements of upcoming “Virtual Cash Mob” events in Trinidad. If your business is interested in hosting an upcoming virtual cash mob, please call Penny Saeedi at 719-859-2584.
