YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS. EXAM AT END OF SECOND DAY

MUST REGISTER BY SEPTEMBER 19, 2019

THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 14 HOURS OF TRAINING AND 1.5 HOUR TEST TIME. INCLUDED TOPICS: MICROBIOLOGY, EMERGING PATHOGENS,FOOD BORN ILLNESS, PERSONAL HYGIENE, FOOD STORAGE AND HANDLING, FOOD PESTS, FOOD PREPARATION COOKING, COOLING AND REHEATING, PREVENTION OF KITCHEN ACCIDENTS, AND GENERAL KITCHEN SANITATION. HAACP PRINCIPLES WILL BE INTRODUCED DURING THE COURSE.

RECENT NEW MEXICO REGULATIONS CHANGES REQUIRE A CERTIFIED FOOD MANAGER IN EVERY FACILITY. THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO NOW FOLLOWS THE FDA MODEL FOOD CODE.

THIS COURSE FROM THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION WILL MEET THE ANSI (AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE) REQUIREMENT IN THE NEW MEXICO FOOD REGULATIONS. THE EXAM AND COURSE ARE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED.

TRAINING CONSISTS OF LECTURE, CHAPTER QUIZZES, HANDS ON DEMONSTRATIONS AND GROUP PROBLEM SOLVING. EACH STUDENT RECEIVES A COPY OF THE CERTIFIED FOOD MANAGER TEXT BOOK (DEVELOPED BY THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION, NEHA). EXAMS ARE ADMINISTERED AND GRADED BY PROMETRICS, A NATIONAL TESTING SERVICE.

CERTIFICATION AWARDED WHEN EXAM IS SUCCESSFULLY PASSED.

IT IS RENEWABLE EVERY 5 YEARS.
