Raton PBW Scholarship:
The Raton Professional Business Women’s Organization is proud to offer a $500 scholarship for continuing education in 2019. This scholarship is available to both males and females in Colfax and Union County, including graduating seniors and anyone now in the work force who wishes to further his /her education. Applications for this scholarship may be picked up from your local high school counselor or you may contact Michael Anne Antonucci at 575-447-3723.
The Raton PBW Young Professional Program is for professional women or men between the ages 19-35 with at least one full year of work experience, outstanding in scholastic work, community service and who live, work, train, or are continuing education in Colfax or Union Counties and support the mission of PBW. Candidates may be self-nominated by an organization, employer or colleague. The candidates will be interviewed by a panel of judges and will compete by delivering a four minute presentation on a given topic. The individual selected will represent Raton PBW at the state competition in May. Last year’s State winner was Stephanie Osborn from Raton PBW.
The Raton Business Woman of the Year program honors business and professional women who have distinguished themselves in their careers and in other activities. Candidates will be judged on their career achievements; efforts on behalf of issues such as pay equity and equal rights; assistance to others in the advancement of their own careers; guidance to youth and young careerists; and organization/association or affiliation. Last year’s recipient was Kathleen Hanson from Doggy Stylz Salon.
There will be a Banquet held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 6 PM to be held at the Raton Museum located at 108 South 2nd Street in Raton. Catered by Mr. C’s, dinner will include a brisket plate with scallops, green beans, salad and dessert. The cost for this event is $15 per person.
